Short, because there is little to say
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Z Phase is offline-first. It has no accounts, no analytics and no telemetry. Your library never leaves your computer unless you choose to move it.
01What we collect
Nothing. Z Phase does not send usage data, crash reports, identifiers, listening history or file names to the developer or to any third party.
02What stays on your device
Your library index (a local SQLite database), playlists, liked songs, play history, equalizer settings and preferences are stored in your Windows user profile (AppData). Uninstalling and deleting that folder removes all of it. Your audio files are only read, never uploaded or modified, unless you edit metadata yourself.
03Network requests the app can make
Only when you ask. (1) Music discovery and download uses yt-dlp to contact YouTube; that traffic is subject to Google's policies and your IP address is visible to them as in any browser. (2) The auto-updater checks GitHub Releases for a new version; GitHub receives a standard request. You can disable both.
04Third-party software
Z Phase bundles open-source components (Electron, yt-dlp, ffmpeg and others). They run locally and are not configured to report anything back to us.
05This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies and runs no trackers. Downloads and issues are hosted on GitHub, which has its own privacy statement.
06Children
Z Phase collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
07Changes
Any change to this policy is made in the public repository, so its full history is visible at github.com/PiyushBarala/zphase.
